St. Michael in Old Town, Chicago, IL
The1925 Kilgen instrument at St. Michael’s had fallen into disrepair over the years. The parish expressed a desire to maintain the original tonal characteristics of the organ while completely rebuilding it. The first phase of the project, completed in 2011, included a new console, new solid state relays, a new blower and a comprehensive cleaning and releathering of the Swell and Pedal divisions. The next phase will complete the Great and Choir divisions.
